Municipal Guard House

Guarda, the highest city of Portugal, is located 1056 meters above sea level, in the Central Region of Portugal, province of Beira Alta, it belongs to statistical sub-region of Beira Interior Norte.

The Council of the Guard is composed of 52 parishes and three urban areas, including watersheds of the rivers Mondego, Côa and Zêzere.

The municipality is limited to the northeastern county of Pinhel, east by Almeida, southeast at Sabugal, to the south by Belmonte and the Covilha, west by Butters and Gouveia and northwest by Celorico da Beira.
